The safety layer is almost here. Help us get it right.
CLIQ's browser extension pauses look-alike websites before a password is ever typed. It's entering alpha with a small group of older adults and the families they trust — and we're looking for a few community partners to help us find them.
Nothing to buy, nothing to install at your organization, and no commitment from talking.
Four steps between them and a scam.
The extension is CLIQ's first product. It rides along in the browser she already uses and follows the same four steps every time something looks off: detect, protect, connect, reflect.
CLIQ reads the address of every page she opens — on her own computer — and spots a copycat the moment it loads.
Anything risky gets a calm pause — before a password or card number is ever typed. No alarms, no blame, and the choice stays hers.
One button loops in someone she trusts — or a CLIQ specialist — so they can look at it together and decide.
A future, senior-reviewed how-to may describe what happened in plain words — and, only if she turns it on, the people she chose see that CLIQ paused.
The checking happens on her computer. When CLIQ pauses a page, it sends back one short report — the confusing address and why. Never passwords, never what she typed, never the other websites she uses.
The moment of uncertainty is the moment that matters.
Americans 60+ lost a reported $4.9 billion to cybercrime in 2024 — up 43% in one year. Behind the number is a quieter, daily problem your front desk and their adult children both know well: a page asks for a password and something feels a little off, and there's no good person to ask.
CLIQ is built for exactly that moment. The alpha is how we make sure it works for real people — not the people who find technology easy, but the ones who don't.
It starts with conversations
Alpha families talk with our founder one-on-one, every couple of weeks — each person paid for their own time. The first step is a conversation, not an install.
Install when it's ready
Families who want to are among the first to try the extension as it comes online. We promise a sequence, not a date — we'd rather say nothing than something we'd have to walk back.
Two kinds of partner, one program.
Senior communities & aging organizations
Senior-living communities, senior centers, libraries, and the organizations older adults already trust.
- You pass a one-page note along to a few residents or members who might be curious. That's the whole job.
- Families sign up with CLIQ directly. You're never asked to consent on anyone's behalf, and you're never told who joined or what they said.
- Nothing is installed on your systems, and your staff aren't asked to do anything beyond the introduction.
The ask: a 30-minute conversation, then an introduction to three or four families.
Colleges & universities
Programs in cybersecurity, UX, and human development or gerontology — and the students in them who want real exposure to the people they're designing and building for.
- Students sit in on real alpha sessions with older adults and their families — watching how someone actually reacts when a page asks for a password.
- Hands-on work that fits their field: threat patterns for cybersecurity students, usability research for UX students, aging and family dynamics for human development and gerontology students.
- Experience worth putting on a résumé, with room to align to a practicum, capstone, or course credit — and publishable findings if your department wants them.
The ask: a 30-minute conversation to explore fit with your department and students.
Founding partners shape what this becomes.
An early, unfiltered read
First look at what we learn about how the people you serve actually handle risky moments online — before anyone else sees it.
A seat at the table
Alpha partners are the voices in the room while the product is still soft. What your community needs gets built in, not bolted on.
Something real for your people
The families you introduce get paid, respectful research conversations now — and first access to the extension when it's ready.
Built so saying yes is easy — and safe.
These aren't legal fine print; they're the product's own rules, and they apply to the alpha exactly as they'll apply at scale.
- Consent comes from the individual. Never from a contract, a site license, or an introduction. Anyone can stop at any time.
- You're never told who joined. What participants say stays with CLIQ — it doesn't travel back to your organization.
- Staff never touch the money side. No one at a partner organization approves, denies, or executes anything financial — by design, not by policy.
- Family sees moments, not browsing. When alerts are on, family sees the pause and the outcome — never a running record of where she goes.
- No dates we can't keep. The install is a sequence promise — "you'll be among the first" — not a calendar promise.
Start with a 30-minute conversation.
Tell us who you serve; we'll tell you exactly what the alpha would ask of you — and what it wouldn't.
